POP (Point of Presence)
The physical location of a major access point to the Internet. A small city might only have one point of presence to which all the ISPs in the town connect.
 
POP3 (Post Office Protocol)
Post office protocol 3 is a set of rules that makes it possible for e-mail to be sent from one machine to any other machine. It is the standard protocol for receiving mail.

Port
First and most frequently, a port is where information goes into and/or out of a computer, such as the serial port on a PC. Secondly, a "port" often refers to the number appearing after the colon (:) in a domain name, such as http://www.example.com:7000/. Thirdly, to "port" something refers to translating a piece of software from one computer platform to another (for example, from Windows to Macintosh).
